  • This year I will celebrate 5 years of my own business in Finland. Being able to pursue the career that I want in the country I chose to live in, is something I definitely took for granted for many years, but as we’re right before the European Elections on May 26th, it has become so much more apparent to me how amazing that actually is! Not only the fact that we have the freedom of movement and work, but also that we have the support of different EU institutions and programs helping us to succeed. In addition to many local organisations that help people to take their life and career into their own hands. On the blog I have listed many of those initiatives for new locals (not only in Helsinki) - in cooperation with the @eukomissio in Finland I want to really show what impact the elections can have on our daily life and work. And how important it is to make your vote count. Especially us Europeans abroad! .   • The last couple of days have been super hectic and long, but I’ve also noticed again that I totally love my job. I wouldn’t want to have it any other way!   • Finnish food anyone? The newest addition to the range of Finnish restaurants in the city is @kultakitchen - who bring a unique focus of the Lapland culture to the Capital. For me, this was an experience that’s for all foodies in the city, and not a meal that’s made for tourists who fancy trying exotic things.   • I’ve been prepping work on a new and exciting project that will really kick off for me tomorrow. The next two weeks will be interesting and long, so tonight I’m sitting on my balcony with a glass of red wine in the evening sun - thinking of this wonderful red @veerabianca and I had at @kultakitchen in @laplandhotels_bulevardi just recently, just like this beautiful arctic interpretation of an Old Fashioned.   • Pretty much how I felt for most of this week, a bit cold and confused 😹 but the weekend will be nice with my next rowing class (Yes! Me! Rowing!), bowling (now that’s been a while) and hopefully visiting the cherry blossoms in eastern Helsinki. Tonight is a wild Friday evening, I just ordered Indian food and already had an accidental nap, so that’s promising. Did I mention that I’m a bit confused? Wow amazing caption.   • Oh yay Friday! It was a short week but somehow it felt really long.
